The band of villages east of Eastleigh — West End, Fair Oak, Horton Heath and, a little further north, Colden Common — generates a steady stream of recovery work, partly because so many people here commute by car and partly because the B3354 and the lanes towards Bishop's Waltham are hard on tyres and suspensions. West End
West End sits between the M27 Junction 7 and the city, and the Charles Watts Way / Moorgreen Road junctions see regular low-speed shunts and breakdowns in queueing traffic. Match days at the stadium add their own layer — if your car will not start in a car park after the football, a jump start is often all it takes, and it is one of the most common jobs we do. West End borders Hedge End and Bitterne, both of which we cover daily.
Fair Oak and Horton Heath
Fair Oak's growth has outpaced its roads, and the Winchester Road / Mortimers Lane routes carry far more traffic than they were built for. Typical call-outs: flat batteries, punctures from the rural lanes towards Upham (most new cars have no spare wheel, so a puncture now usually means recovery or a mobile repair), and cars that have overheated in summer queues. Horton Heath, with the new developments off Burnetts Lane, is covered on exactly the same basis as Eastleigh itself.
Colden Common and the Winchester fringe
Colden Common sits on the B3354 halfway to Winchester, and we pick up plenty of work on that corridor — including moving cars that have failed MOTs at local garages and collecting non-runners and scrap cars from driveways.
