Anyone who lives on the Hamble peninsula knows the geography problem: there is essentially one road in and one road out. Hamble Lane (the B3397) carries everything from Windhover roundabout down through Bursledon and Hamble-le-Rice, and when a broken-down car blocks it at school-run time, the whole peninsula feels it. On the other side of the river, Warsash funnels onto the A27 at Sarisbury. It is exactly the kind of area where a fast, local recovery truck makes a real difference.

PBK Recovery's base in Hedge End is ten minutes from Windhover roundabout, so Bursledon, Netley, Hamble and Warsash are about as local as it gets for us. We run 24/7 and recover everything on a flatbed — cars, vans, motorcycles and EVs.

Bursledon and the M27 Junction 8

A lot of our work here starts on the motorway: cars limping off the M27 at Junction 8 with a flat tyre or an overheating engine, then giving up on the Windhover or Tesco roundabouts. If you can get off the motorway, do — a side road or retail car park is a far safer place to wait. If you cannot, our guide on motorway breakdowns covers the drill. Either way, we can usually reach Bursledon quickly because we are not fighting our way across the city to get to you.

Netley and Hamble-le-Rice

Netley's narrow Victorian streets and the waterfront at Hamble mean tight access — another reason a properly equipped flatbed beats a large tow truck here. Typical jobs: flat batteries at the Royal Victoria Country Park after a day out, flat tyres with no usable spare (most modern cars do not carry one), and marina workers' vans that will not start at 6am. Netley also connects straight through to Woolston, which we cover daily.

Warsash and the river's east bank

Warsash, Locks Heath and the lanes around the Hamble's east bank are covered on the same basis: we quote before we travel, and the price does not change on arrival. If your car is beyond economic repair — a common verdict on older cars after a head gasket goes — we also collect scrap cars and non-runners from the whole peninsula.
